Dear Mr Nielsen,

In our email of 2 October 2019 we informed you about the need to extend
the deadline of our reply by a further 15 working days, due to the fact
that the internal consultation process for the relevant documents and the
detailed analysis of all legal aspects linked to the possible disclosure
of these documents was particularly time consuming.

In this respect, as a reply to your request for information addressed to
the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC or Committee) on the 10
September, please note the following:

EESC Members perceive no salary for the activities performed in relations
with EESC activities. Daily allowances for participation to
activities/meetings of the Committee are made in conformity with Council
Decision 2013/471/EU of 23 September 2013 (OJ L 253, 25.09.2013) on the
granting of daily allowances to and the reimbursement of travelling
expenses of members of the European Economic and Social Committee and
their alternates, as well as to the Decision of the Bureau of the European
Economic and Social Committee of 26 April 2016, adopted on the basis
thereof, on the reimbursement of expenses incurred and the allowances
received by Committee members.

All members of the Committee are subject to the same rules and conditions.

The payment of subsistence allowance (or per diem) is set at 290€ and is

locations, by EESC Member Dilyana Slavova since 21/09/2010 is attached.

Mrs Slavova participated in these meetings due to her obligations as
President of the REX section, as a replacement of the EESC President or on
the request of in the framework of official meetings organized by the
European Commission.

Please note that this is the reply to your initial request. As it was
already under approval when you introduced a confirmatory request earlier
today, we do not take this confirmatory into account. We apologize for any
inconvenience this may have caused.

Kind regards.
