Dear European Economic and Social Committee,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

Concerning your request registered on 6 January 2020, we have not
identified any legal opinion on the Proposal for an Agreement between the
European Parliament, the Commission, the Court of Justice, the Court of
Auditors, the Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the
Regions establishing an Advisory Group on Standards in Public Life -
SEC(2000) 2077 final.
Furthermore, your request for ''any legal opinion discussing the EU Ethics

does not enable us to identify specific documents corresponding to your

I'd be happy to provide further details regarding the Proposal for an Agreement between the
European Parliament, the Commission, the Court of Justice, the Court of
Auditors, the Economic and Social Committee and the Committee of the
Regions establishing an Advisory Group on Standards in Public Life -
SEC(2000) 2077 final.
This proposal (available at https://eur-lex.europa.eu/procedure/SL/1...) followed a request by the European Parliament, which originates from recommendations developed by the Committee of Independent Experts in its 2nd Report of 10 September 1999. Moreover, it was part of the White Paper on Administrative Reform.
In the light of the above, I'd like to request access to any document that you might have in your archive discussing the creation - or mere preparation - of an Advisory Group on Standards in Public Life.
Being the the Economic and Social Committee one of the EU institutions accepting to delegate to such an authority the oversight of its own ethics rule, it would appear surprising if no preparatory document had been prepared with the ECSC ahead of the discussion of such a proposal.
