Ing. Gerd Mooshammer

Sehr geehrte / Sehr geehrter Europäische Umweltagentur,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

Verbindlichen Dank vorab.

Mit freundlichem Gruß,

Ing. Gerd Mooshammer

Dear Ing. Gerd Mooshammer,

Thank you for contacting the European Environment Agency (EEA) regarding
the legislative status of outdoor energy appliances.

The EEA produces reports on the state and trends of the environment in
Europe in its attempt to improve the environment and move towards
sustainability in Europe.

EEA’s working remit. The EEA neither sets nor enforces environmental
policies. We have no mandate for providing legal or technical assistance
for complaints relating to environmental legislation, and no powers of
investigation related to the issue you raise. It is the European
Commission, which has the responsibility of making new legislative
proposals. These proposals are then adopted by the Council and the
Parliament, and implemented in the Member States by the national
authorities. The Commission has the responsibility of overseeing that
Member States act in accordance with EU law. The role of the EEA is simply
to supply all parties concerned with relevant environmental information.
