Sehr geehrte / Sehr geehrter Generaldirektion Steuern und Zollunion,
Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.
I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Follow-up request: Rules of origin verification in the EU-Japan trade agreement - meetings DG TAXUD with business'.
I am astonished that the Commission services were not able to recover any documents in the requested context. Apparently, the RoO verification procedures have been under discussion for quite a while given the fact that Japan was mentioned by a DG Trade representative in this context already at the 27. Europäischer Zollrechtstag in Innsbruck, Austria in June 2015 (http://efa-muenster.de/images/efa_dokume...). If the meeting documentation by the association and participants is any guide (e.g. EFA Schriftenreihe Band 57, Mendel Verlag), this topic caused some discussion among the participants (which were btw from business background). It will come as a surprise to me if this has been the only occassion this issue was discussed and that apparently and that there has been no internal reporting back on discussions held.
Hence I kindly request to review the efforts undertaken so far.
A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.asktheeu.org/de/request/foll...
Mit freundlichem Gruß,
Peter von Herff
