Via the Commission's response to the European Ombudsman in my complaint procedure (case 763/2020/DL, accessible here: https://www.ombudsman.europa.eu/en/case/...), I became aware of the fact that the Commission is currently finalising a new, updated, access to documents portal, to be launched this summer, as part of the so-called project "EASE" (https://ec.europa.eu/isa2/actions/improv...).

The Dutch ministry of foreign affairs furthermore reports that the portal will be developed on the basis of an open-source technology, allowing lower governments to embed it in their existing IT structures: https://ecer.minbuza.nl/-/eurowob-portaa...

Under the right of access to documents laid down in Regulation 1049/2001, I would like to request any documents indicating (1) the core features and functionalities of this portal, (2) the objectives it is intended to serve, and (3) the organisational practicalities related to the portal project (at least including budgetary details and foreseen time path).

In case any of the documents included in my request were already proactively published, I kindly request you to refer me to the precise URL at which they can be located.

Follow up on my access to documents request of 15 April via the AsktheEU portal entitled "Information concerning new Commission access to documents portal" registered under your reference number GESTDEM 2021/2338, I would like to add the following information that may benefit the Commission in its response.

Since filing the request, I was made aware by a previous applicant of his similar access request leading to the disclosure, by the Commission, of 25 relevant documents. The exchange was registered under your reference number GESTDEM 2020/6149 and is available here: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/ease...

Considering my belated acquaintance with this previous document disclosure, and with an eye to the Commission's limited administrative resources, I would like to propose to restrict my access request to any potential additional documents issued after the date of this previous access requests.
