Dear Human Resources and Security,

Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.

I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Inquiry regarding cooling off period - Dan Sobovitz'.

The following report was published in the press: "EU Former advisor to Maroš Šefčovič joins BCW - Dan Sobovitz, former digital communications advisor to the Slovak commissioner from 2015 to 2020 is now senior digital communications advisor in the Brussels office of Burson Cohn & Wolfe. Since leaving the Commission, he was responsible for the communication of the European start-up mobility award and had founded his own communication agency."

Consequently, I requested the documents which contain the following information:

- Wether Dan Sobovitz, former Speechwriter & Digital Communication Strategist of Vice President Maroš Šefčovič (until Feb. 2020), has requested an authorisation to take up a new job as Senior Adviser, Digital Communications at BCW Brussels (Sept. 2021)
- All documents related to the authorisation process, including the final decision taken regarding Dan Sobovitz's new occupation and whether it complies with the applicable rules against revolving doors

Access to those documents was refused because of "personal data" issues. However, this is an important issue that concerns the general interest and good administration of the European Union. A redacted version of some documents, indicating at the very least if Mr Sobovitz has lodged a request for authorization should be available.

I hope you will reconsider your first decision and I will examine whether to lodge a complaint to the Ombudsman if no further information is made available.

A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/inqu...

Yours faithfully,

Adrien Le Louarn
