Dear Mr Dohle,
Further to your application submitted under [1]Regulation (EC) No
1049/2001 requesting documents related to the event The Dark side of
adoption organised by the Intergroup Integrity, Transparency, Corruption
and Organised Crime, please be kindly informed that intergroups, though
are composed of MEPs and recognised by the Parliament, are not official
Parliament bodies. Therefore, the Parliament does not hold any document
concerned by your request within the meaning of Article 2(3) of Regulation
(EC) No 1049/2001 (see also [2]Rule 122 of Parliament’s Rules of
Procedure).
More precisely, according to the rules of the Parliament governing the
intergroups (see in particular [3]Rule 35 of the Parliament’s Rules of
Procedure and [4]the other rules governing of the establishment of the
intergroups), intergroups are not to pursue official activities on behalf
of the Parliament or its bodies and they or their activities are not to be
confused with them or the activities of the Parliament. Consequently, in
the case of an event held by an intergroup, even if an event has taken
place on the Parliament’s premises and/or with using the Parliament’s
technical facilities, Parliament would not hold any documents.
