Dear Madams & Sirs,

there must have been a mistake with my request 2018/1904, which I sent via the asktheeu website.

While I did receive an acknowledgement of receipt for the request on 3 April, I did not hear anything since then, even though the deadline for my request passed on 24 April. When I asked for an update of the request on 26 April, I received an error response.

I hope that you will receive the message this time and that you can let me know when I can expect the requested documents.

Dear Carlos Remis,

thank you for getting back to me and for re-sending the letter.

Allow me to specify the term "representatives of the car industry (so representatives of individual companies and car industry federations)". With this I mean representatives of car companies such as Volkswagen, Daimler, BMW, Ford, Volvo and Toyota and industry associations such as the German Association of the Automotive Industry (Verband der Automobilindustrie - VDA) and the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).

Allow me also to further specify the subject matter of the meetings and correspondence to the Dieselgate/ emission cheating software affair, CO2 targets for cars, and EU air quality standards.

The timeframe I have mentioned in my request remains the same: 1 January 2017 until the date of my request.

Yours faithfully,

Pia Eberhardt

Dear Madams and Sirs,

could you please update me on the status of this request?

I haven't heard anything from you since I clarified the request on 2 May. I reckon that the deadline for responding to the request has now long passed. I would appreciate if you could inform me about when I can expect an answer.

Dear Madams and Sirs,

Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.

I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Martin Selmayr contacts with car lobbyists & German Transport Ministry' (GestDem No. 2018/1904).

On 29 March 2018, I requested the following documents:

"1) all reports (and other notes) from meetings between Martin Selmayr (now Secretary General, before Head of Cabinet of Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker) and representatives of the car industry (so representatives of individual companies and car industry federations), since 1 January 2017;
2) all correspondence (including emails) between Martin Selmayr and representatives of the car industry since 1 January 2017;
3) all reports (and other notes) from meetings between Martin Selmayr and the German Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (including its former Minister, Alexander Dobrindt), since 1 January 2017;
4) all correspondence (including emails) between Martin Selmayr and the German Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (including its former Minister, Alexander Dobrindt), since 1 January 2017."

Under the Code of Good Administrative Behaviour, I also requested a list of all the above-mentioned documents (including dates, names of participants/senders/recipients and their affiliation, subject of meeting/correspondence).

After technical problems with the asktheeu site, I sent additional clarifications to point 1) and 2) of my request on 2 May 2018, when it was - finally - officially registered.

On 1 June 2018 I received a response, which, unfortunately, only addressed point 1) and 2) of my request. The response letter neither said that the documents requested in point 3) and 4) did not exist nor were they released as part of the response to the request.

I find it very hard to believe that there were no contacts between Martin Selmayr and the German Ministry of Transport in the whole of 2017 and would therefore like to ask you to reconsider point 3) and 4) of my request.

A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/mart...
