Meetings on EU-India trade deal
Dear Permanent Representation of Germany to the EU,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I would like to request the following information:
How many meetings have employees of the Permanent Representation of Germany to the European Union had with external stakeholders on the EU-India trade negotiations since 1st January 2021?
I would like to request a list of these meetings including who was present at the meeting, the names of the organisations and lobbyists present, the date of the meeting, and the subject matters discussed.
Thank you in advance.
Yours faithfully,
Lora Verheecke

Dear Mrs. Verheecke,
Thank you very much for your query which has been forwarded to the Federal Foreign Office here in Berlin.
Regulation 1049/2001 EC as stipulated in its article a paragraph 1 applies to the European institutions (European Parliament, Council and Commission). The Permanent Representation of Germany to the European Union, however, is part of the German Foreign Service and does not fall under the scope of the regulation 1049/2001 EC.
Kindly confirm whether you would like to direct your query to the German Federal Foreign Service (records of files and information/documents are kept in German). The formal reply to your query (under the German Freedom of Information Act, 2005) would have to be conveyed in German language and is subject to charges - depending on the administrative burden. Fees vary from 15 - 500 EUR.
Sincerely
Winfried Völkering (Mr.)
