Margarida da Silva

Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,

Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.

I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Meetings with Goldman Sachs' (Ref GestDem No 2018/1279) submitted to the Secretariat General of the European Commission, 26 February 2018 via https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/meet...

Referring to Regulation 1049/2001, I requested documents relating to all exchanges between Commissioner Dombrovskis, his office and his Cabinet, with Goldman Sachs since 1 June 2016 . Specifically, I would like to request any emails, correspondence, meeting notes or telephone call notes.

On 4 May 2018, I finally received a response from DG FISMA granting me partial access to a number of documents and rejecting access to one. After closer inspection of the documents I am submitting a confirmatory application asking you to review this request as:

- In your decision to grant only partial access to these documents, the “names of people working for external organisations and the names of civil servants below the level of Directors” have been redacted from the documents.

We believe the removal of these names is unjustified. There is a public interest in knowing which
Commission officals met with which Goldman Sachs lobbyists. The name of EU professional officials and, in turn, of professional registered interest representatives does not fall under the personal data category. We would therefore like to request the release of these names.

- According to the public list of meetings of Vice-President Valdis Dombrovskis with organisations and self-employed individuals, the Commissioner has held one meeting with Goldman Sachs on 13/10/2017 in Washington for which there is no trace of this meeting in the batch of documents you sent me. Could you please review and confirm if indeed there are any documents relating to this meeting,

A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/meet...

Yours faithfully,

Margarida da Silva
