Dear Madam,

Subject: Your application for access to documents – Ref GestDem No 2015/5127

We refer to your e-mail 25/09/2015 in which you make a request for access to documents, registered on 30/09/2015 under the above mentioned reference number.

Your application is currently being handled. However, we will not be in a position to complete the handling of your application within the time limit of 15 working days, which expires on 21/10/2015.

An extended time limit is needed as your application concerns a large number of documents.

Therefore, we have to extend the time limit with 15 working days in accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding public access to documents. The new time limit expires on 12/11/2015.

However, we will try to send you the requested documents in batches starting already this week, starting with several tens of meetings reports.
We apologise for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.

Please note that given the broad wording of your request, we are concentrating on documents that we are able to identify within JRC’s Institute for Health and Consumer Protection and its Public Health Policy Support Unit, as the Scientific-technical support to DG SANTE on fighting obesity is under the responsibility of this Unit.

In case you are interested also in other documents, we would like to ask you to provide us with more detailed information on the documents which you seek to obtain, as the broad wording of your request does not allow us to identify concrete documents which would correspond to your request regarding other parts of the JRC that are not directly dealing with the topic. Also, regarding other Commission services/Directorates General that may potentially hold such documents, we would like to invite you to point out the service concerned, so that the proper attribution can be made, or contact these services directly.

The 15 working days the time limit for handling your application will start running when we receive the requested clarifications. Please to not hesitate to contact us if you need assistance in clarifying or specifying your application.

Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Sincerely,
