Dear Mrs Sanana,

Thank you for your e-mail and interest in the European Investment Bank
(EIB), the long-term lending institution of the European Union.

We refer to your access to documents request of 18 April 2018 to the
European Investment Bank (EIB), requesting access to the all
correspondence, including emails and letters of formal notice, between
European Commission and Spain and Canary Island Government about the Rapid
Bus Transit project in Spain. We also refer to our acknowledgement of
receipt of the same day. Your request has been handled in line with the
EIB Group’s [1]Transparency Policy.

We would first like to clarify that the EIB loan for the Las Palmas Bus
Rapid Transit project was signed between the EIB and Guaguas Municipales
SA, which is the public transport company of Las Palmas.

We would also like to inform you that general information regarding the
EIB loan for this project is available on the EIB website including the
Project Summary
([2]http://www.eib.org/projects/pipelines/pi...), as well as a
press release
([3]http://www.eib.org/infocentre/press/rele...)
and a blog
([4]http://www.eib.org/infocentre/blog/all/l...).

Please note, however, that the EIB neither holds nor is aware of the
correspondence between the European Commission and the Spanish and Canary
Island Governments regarding this project. We would therefore kindly
suggest that you address your request directly to the institutions
concerned.

We hope you find this information useful and remain at your disposal
should you need any further clarifications regarding the EIB’s involvement
in this project^[1].

Yours sincerely,

Infodesk Team

Dear Mrs Santana,

Thank you for your follow-up message of 19 April 2018 regarding your
access to information request sent via the AsktheEU.com website.

We have checked the links provided in our previous message and can confirm
that they work. The links also work in the AsktheEU.com website by
clicking on the “show quoted sections” tab which appears under our initial
response. Alternatively, you can send us an e-mail directly
([1][email address]) and we will send you back the links.

As indicated in our previous response, we can confirm that the European
Investment Bank (EIB) does not hold any copy of any correspondence between
the European Commission and Guaguas Municipales SA. Nor does the EIB have
any document referring to correspondence between the European Commission
and Guaguas Municipales SA. For the sake of clarification, please note
that, while we work closely with other EU institutions to implement EU
Policy, the EIB is not part of the European Commission.

On the basis of the above, and given that your follow-up message does not
present any new information allowing us to treat tour request differently,
we reiterate our suggestion that you contact the institutions concerned
directly and remain at your disposal should you need any clarifications
[1].

Yours sincerely,
