Dear Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

-How many meetings have employees of the Permanent Representation of Czechia to the EU had in the context of or relating to the topic of New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) with representatives of companies, lobby or advocacy groups, academic, research, and scientific institutes, consultancies, and any other kind of organisations and stakeholders, from January 2022 until today?

I would like to request a list of these meetings: who was present at the meeting, including the names of organisations/lobbyists present, as well as the date of the meeting, the subject matter discussed, and the minutes of the meetings.

If possible, I prefer you produce the documents on a rolling basis.

At no point should the Permanent Representation's search for (or deliberations concerning) certain documents delay the production of others that the Permanent Representation has already retrieved and chosen to produce. I also prefer to receive documents electronically.

If some documents are partially exempted from publication, I wish to have access to a partial release of said documents. Should my request be denied wholly or partially, please explain the denial or all deletions referring to specific exemptions in the regulation.

Please contact me if any point of this request needs to be clarified,

Thank you for your help,

Yours sincerely,

Jelena Prtoric

Dear Permanent Representation of Czech Republic to the EU,

Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.

I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Request for lobby documents & meetings'.

I have submitted my initial request on 5 August 2024. I have asked: "How many meetings have employees of the Permanent Representation of Czechia to the EU had in the context of or relating to the topic of New Genomic Techniques (NGTs) with representatives of companies, lobby or advocacy groups, academic, research, and scientific institutes, consultancies, and any other kind of organisations and stakeholders, from January 2022 until today?"

I requested a list of these meetings: who was present at the meeting, including the names of organisations/lobbyists present, as well as the date of the meeting, the subject matter discussed, and the minutes of the meetings. I also specified I'd prefer you'd produce the documents on a rolling basis.

I also highlighted the fact that the Permanent Representation's search for (or deliberations concerning) certain documents should not delay the production of others that the Permanent Representation has already retrieved and chosen to produce.

The response to my request is long overdue by now. By law, under all circumstances, the authority should have responded by 27 August 2024.

A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/requ...

Please send the requested information as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully,

Jelena Prtoric

Dear Mrs Prtoric,

our authorities indeed do not possess any document relative to the information you have requested. Nevertheless, in line with the Act No 106/1999 Coll. we prepared the list of meetings you had referred to in your request. There were in total three meetings. Let me please recall that since the NGT proposal was made public in July 2023 no meetings could have been held before this time (just to be precise since you have requested information on meetings from January 2022).

Kind regards
