Dear Mr Müller,

We thank you for having contacted the European Aviation Safety Agency and your question.

EASA is governed by Regulation (EC) 216/2008 which sets out the tasks and responsibilities of the Agency. Security is not among the tasks of our Agency and for the time being this area remains under the responsibility of the Member States and European Commission.

In this case the allowed items on board are usually part of the Airline’s policy and possibly airport security. Therefore, we recommend you to check also with the operator you are flying with to Irland and possibly the German Aviation Authority (LBA).

You can find contact details of the NAAs which are members of EASA on our website at http://www.easa.europa.eu/easa-and-you/i...

We hope you will find the information provided useful.
