spendings of Hungarian MEPs

En attente d'une révision interne par Parlement européen a propos de leur gestion de la demande.

Dear European Parliament,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

The following questions refer to the Hungarian Members of the European Parliament in the 2009-2014 and the present (2014-to date) period.

1. The Members of the European Parliament can receive EUR 4320 monthly as general expenditure allowance, to cover their expenses connected to their work. How much money each Hungarian MEP received? Please provide information on their payments of general expenditure allowances for each month. Which Hungarian MEPs rented offices (additional to their offices in Brussel and Strasbourg) from this budget? What is the address of each office? How much is the monthly rent, when did they start to rent the office, and until which date?

2. The MEPS are entitled to receive reimbursement up to EUR 4264 a year for their travel expenses for conferences and other organized professional events (apart from the travel costs of their commuting between their home country and the EU institutions. How much money was reimbursed to each Hungarian MEP for travel expenses? What were the names of the events where they were invited to travel? Where did they travel, when, and where they were accommodated during their stay?

3. One MEP has an EUR 21 379 euro budget for employing assistants and trainees. What are the names of the assistants and trainees contracted by each Hungarian MEPs? From which date until which date they were/have been employed, how much was/has been their salary? Quarter of this monthly budget might be spent on writing studies and giving advice. Which companies or individuals were contracted for such tasks? Please provide their job description and the amount of payment they received for the job.

4. MEPs can invite up to 110 visitors to the European Parliament. Who were the visitors of each MEP, and who was the leader of the visiting group? What was the date of their visit, what means of transport did they use for travelling? What was their program, and where were they accommodated? How much money per person was spent on their visit?

Yours faithfully,

Blanka Zöldi

Dear European Parliament,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of European Parliament's handling of my FOI request 'spendings of Hungarian MEPs'.

1. The response and the links provided do not answer my questions regarding the additional offices of MEPs (address, cost and date of the rent), nor detail on what exactly the general allowance was spent on. If my request of these data is refused, please provide a reason for that decision.

2. As my question is about persons (1) spending public money (2) in connection with their public duties, I see no reason for rejecting my public information request on grounds of calling the data "personal matters of individual MEPs".

3. The response did not include the answer for the vast majority of my questions regarding the assistants of MEPs. Please provide a reasoning if upon further consideration, the following questions are still refused to be answered: "From which date until which date the assistants of MEPs were/have been employed, how much was/has been their salary? Quarter of this monthly budget might be spent on writing studies and giving advice. Which companies or individuals were contracted for such tasks? Please provide their job description and the amount of payment they received for the job."

4. If the names of the visitors come under personal data protection, please provide the requested information without the names, but detailing all other relevant data.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: http://www.asktheeu.org/en/request/spend...

Yours faithfully,

Blanka Zöldi
