Dear Mr Schmalenberger,

This concerns your application under [1]Regulation (EC) No
1049/2001, requesting public access to a Legal Service Opinion of 13
October 2023 regarding the AI Act and, more specifically, the filters to
exempt AI providers from the high-risk category, which is mentioned in
[2]this Euractiv article.

Parliament informs you that the Legal Service has not established a formal
legal opinion on the matter. Parliament has, however, identified one
informal document, dated 13 October 2023, originated in the Legal Service
that discusses the high-risk classification in the context of the AI Act.
It is the non-paper of 13 October 2023 on AI Act, Articles 6,7 and Annex
III, which has now been published on Parliament's [3]Public Register of
documents, under the register reference EP-PE_AVS(2023)3467, and it is
available [4]here.

On this basis, Parliament considers your application handled and the
procedure closed. Should you wish to submit any new requests for specific
Parliament documents, [5]please do not hesitate to come back to us.

Best regards,
