Three Committees and Frontex Communications

Dear European Parliament,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

Any communication between Frontex and members of the Committee for Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs (LIBE); EU Internal Security Committee (COSI) and Strategic Committee on Immigration, Frontiers and Asylum (SCIFA) concerning the
creation of Eurosur or any other element related to the
surveillance of the external borders of the EU.

I'm interested in communications concerning that topic that took place between December 2006 and February 2008.

Dear Mr Grasso,

 

Further to your request we would like to inform you that no
correspondence between LIBE and FRONTEX or COSI, or SCIFA has been
found in our data bases. If any letters have been exchanged with
individual Members it is not possible for us to supply any evidence.
 MEPs' private correspondence is not classified as 'EP documents',
under the EP Rules of Procedure (Art. 104)

 

Regarding COSI (Standing Committee on Operational Cooperation on
Internal Security) we would like to inform you that this Committee did
not exist during the period referred to in your request. It was
established on the basis of the Lisbon Treaty (Article 71 on the
Functioning of the EU) by the Council Decision of 25.02.2010.   Full

Furthermore, we we wish to inform you that LIBE Committee was involved
in the creation of rapid border intervention teams. (Proposal for a
