Voluntary Pension Fund
Dear European Parliament,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
1. Joint letter by CONT and BUDG Chairs to President Metsola about the
Voluntary Pension Fund (VPF)
2. Parliament's Secretariat examination of the pension scheme's situation, which was then submitted to the Bureau
3. List of MEPs signed up to the fund.
There is an overriding public interest in disclosure of all these documents given:
1. The actuarial deficit of the Fund amounted to EUR 371,3 million as of the end of 2021.
2. The Court of Justice estimates that the fund will be insolvent by 2024
3. The EU taxpayer will be required to bail out the fund.
Yours faithfully,
Nikolaj Nielsen
