Access to documents – Meetings between Commission leadership and Enveritas

Waiting for an internal review by Secretariat General of the European Commission of their handling of this request.

Dear Sir or Madam,

Pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, I request access to documents concerning contacts between the European Commission and Enveritas.

For the purpose of this request, “Enveritas” refers to the U.S.-based non-profit organisation active in the coffee sector and engaged in verification activities related to deforestation-free supply chains under Regulation (EU) 2023/1115. This includes references to “Enveritas” and “Enveritas Inc.” and communications involving its executives, staff, consultants or representatives.

I request access to:
- Lists of meetings, including dates and participants, between Members of the European Commission, their Cabinets, the Secretariat-General and representatives of Enveritas, from 1 January 2022 to the present.
- Briefings, preparatory notes, speaking points or follow-up reports prepared for such meetings in which the EUDR was discussed.
- Correspondence between Enveritas and the Cabinets of the President, Executive Vice-Presidents, or Commissioners responsible for Environment, Trade, or International Partnerships concerning the EUDR.

If any documents fall under the exceptions of Article 4, I request partial access.

Documents in electronic format are preferred.

Kind regards,

Irene van den Berg
