in the margins of the WPGA, 1-2 June 2022  
Summary: In the margins of the WeProtect Global Alliance summit held on 1-2 June 2022, 
Commissioner Johansson had constructive discussions with representatives of; 
 
 Meta. All 
stakeholders thanked the Commissioner for the legislative proposal on preventing and combating child 
sexual abuse. It is an ambitious and transformative piece of legislation. All stakeholders extended their 
support to ensure the discussions on the proposal are taken forward effectively. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 Meta 
welcomed the proposal whilst reiterating the importance of encryption in ensuring cybersecurity, 
privacy and data protection. The pointed out the importance of setting out a robust risk assessment 
process and the need to place more emphasis on prevention.
