Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

- All documents related to the payment of salaries to accredited assistant Jian Guo
- All documents related to costs related to accredited assistant Jian Guo defrayed from Maximilian Krah's parliamentary assistance allowance
- All documents related to any financial compensation given to Jian Guo for any leave which had not been used by the time he relinquished his post.
- All documents related to any installation or resettlement allowance received by accredited assistant Jian Guo
- All documents related to mission order requests related to accredited assistant Jian Guo
- All documents related to declaration of mission expenses by accredited assistant Jian Guo
- All documents related to the suspension and/or end of contract of accredited assistant Jian Guo

I acknowledge that these documents will undoubtedly contain personal data. However, following Mr Jian Guo's conviction in Dresden for espionage for China, I believe that the public interest in how taxpayer money is spent in relation to Mr Jian Guo now justifies a transfer of this personal data. I am an investigative journalist and I would like to be able to inspect the requested documents to determine, inter alia, whether Jian Guo was continued to be paid after being arrested; what missions he was on; and what expenses he declared.

In particular I would like to draw attention to the 8 May 2024 Court ruling in case T‑375/22, which was about an access to documents request related to a convicted MEP. I believe that just as in the case on which the Court ruled, publication of the requested documents would facilitate enhanced public scrutiny and accountability with regard to Jian Guo's access to public funds.

Only digital copies are required, please consider the environment by not sending me any physical mail.

I am of course available to clarify my request further if needed.
