Dear European External Action Service,
Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications. I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'China’s data plans'.
Indeed, this request is a replication of an earlier one: https://www.asktheeu.org/en/alaveteli_pr...
I submitted the duplicate request because I had missed the deadline to appeal the earlier file. When I attempted to appeal after the deadline, I was promptly refused. As a result, I submitted a new freedom of information request (this one), that was also discounted on the grounds that I had filed an earlier one.
I, therefore, exercise my right to appeal the decision not to disclose the following documentation, in the form of an internal review:
1. ST 9155 2021 INIT - Lines To Take on China's Global Initiative on Data Security
2. ST 8038 2021 REV 1 - Draft Lines To Take on China’s Global Initiative on Data Security
3. ST 8038 2021 INIT - Draft Lines To Take on China’s Global Initiative on Data Security
I believe that I should be granted access to the above documentation on public interest grounds. This is based on the notion that the subject matter may cover the protection of personal data and privacy of EU citizens.
Yours faithfully,
Samuel Stolton
