Code of conduct EU Court

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, Court of Justice of the European Union should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear European Court of Justice,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

-Code of conduct for Judges serving at European Union Courts
(document similar to this http://ec.europa.eu/commission_2010-2014... )

Yours faithfully,

A.J. Ross

Registry ECJ, Court of Justice of the European Union

Dear Mr Ross,

In answer to your enquiry, the Code of Conduct for Members of the Court
can be consulted on our website by clicking on “Court of Justice”,
“Members” and “Code of Conduct”.  The Code of Conduct for Members of the
General Court and of the Civil Service Tribunal can also be consulted in a
similar manner.

I hope that this information is of assistance to you.

Yours sincerely,

L F Hewlett

ECJ Registry

Dear Registry ECJ,

Thank you for the link. I consulted the Code and I understand that these are general provisions and that there must be in place implementing norms of this Code of conduct. Could you confirm? If the reply is affirmative, could you please consider my new request to those internal norms.
I refer to a detailed code like for instance this one http://www.judiciary.gov.uk/Resources/JC... or this http://www.uscourts.gov/RulesAndPolicies...
http://www.judicial-ethics.umontreal.ca/...

Many thanks.

Yours sincerely,

A.J. Ross

Registry ECJ, Court of Justice of the European Union

Dear Sir,

In answer to your enquiry I can inform you that there are no implementing
measures for the Code of Conduct.  The only existing document is the one
that you have already consulted on the ECJ website.

I hope that this information is of assistance to you.

Yours sincerely,

ECJ Registry

Dear Registry ECJ,

Thank you for your response. Yes, the information provided is of my assistance. But still I wonder how that code could be applied in practice. It seems too thin and too opened. Many thanks again for information.

Yours sincerely,

A.J. Ross

Dear Registry ECJ,

This is a new request.
I would like to access documents and information related to the temporary judges mentioned in this link http://curia.europa.eu/jcms/jcms/T5_5240/ and their activities outside Tribunal (in light, spirit and letter of union relevant law.).

Yours sincerely,

A.J. Ross
