Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
I seek access to all documents and correspondence—such as emails, letters, memos, briefings, meeting requests, agendas, minutes, and reports—exchanged between Commission President Ursula von der Leyen or members of her cabinet and representatives of the AGRI and ENVI Committees, concerning:
- The Commission’s proposal of 19 December 2023 to lower the protection status of the wolf under the Bern Convention; and/or
- Any potential amendment to the Habitats Directive (Council Directive 92/43/EEC) relating to large carnivores.
This request covers the period from September 2022 to March 2025.
If no documents are identified, I request confirmation of whether any meetings, calls, or exchanges took place and whether they are listed in the Commission’s internal register.
I also request access to any available document metadata (titles, dates, reference numbers), even if the content is withheld. Where exemptions apply under Regulation 1049/2001, I ask for partial access in accordance with Article 4(6), with refusals clearly justified by reference to the relevant provisions.
