Communications between the German Government and the Commission on the universal PFAS restriction proposal

Waiting for an internal review by Secretariat General of the European Commission of their handling of this request.

Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting all documents (letters, emails, meeting notes, other communications) between the German Government and the Commission on the universal PFAS restriction proposal since 1 February 2023.

To the extent possible, my strong preference is to receive documents in electronic format.

I would also be grateful to receive the documents in batches, as soon as they are identified and available to send.

I look forward to receiving the respective documents accordingly.

Thank you in advance.

Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,

I wondered if there was any update to this request 2024-3907?

Furthermore I would like to clarify that my request also covers the regional governments in Germany. For example, I understand that Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger of the Bayerisches Staatsministerium für Wirtschaft, Landesentwicklung und Energie, and his counterpart Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut of the Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Arbeit und Tourismus Baden-Württemberg have recenty written to the Commission President on the topic of PFAS.

Yours faithfully,

Vicky Cann

Dear applicant,

Please find attached a message concerning your request for access to
Commission documents registered under the above case number 2024/3907.

Please acknowledge the receipt of this message by return email.

Kind regards,

Sg D Secretariat

Dear Secretariat General of the European Commission,

Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.

I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Communications between the German Government and the Commission on the universal PFAS restriction proposal' 2024/3907.

I had asked for "all documents (letters, emails, meeting notes, other communications) between the German Government and the Commission on the universal PFAS restriction proposal since 1 February 2023." I subsequently clarified that my request should also include "the regional governments in Germany" as well.

I was therefore very surprised to only be sent 6 documents. I would like the Commission to review this as I think there could be many more. I would like to receive a list of all documents that are covered by my request, even if the Commission considers that some documents should be withheld.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Vicky Cann
