Comprehensive notes from recent meetings with industry lobbyists
Dear DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting access to all records of the following meetings:
- Meeting on 07/05/2025 between Michael Hager (Head of Cabinet Commissioner Dombrovskis), and Anthony Gooch Galvez, ERT. Subject matter: Simplification
- Meeting on 07/05/2025 between Michael Hager (Head of Cabinet Commissioner Dombrovskis) and Markus Beyrer, Businesseurope. Subject matter: Simplification
- Meeting on 29 April 2025 between Mirzha de Manuel (Cabinet Member Commissioner Dombrovskis) and representative(s) of BUSINESS EUROPE. Subject matter: Inter-institional agreement on better law making.
- Meeting on 29 April 2025 between Nicolo Brignoli (Member of Cabinet Commissioner Dombrovskis) and the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers Europe. Subject matter: Simplification
I am aware that there are minutes available online from these meetings (on Commission Dombrovski's website), but these are extremely brief and minimalist, with a word count ranging from 21 to 39 words only. My access to documents request is therefore for any other, more comprehensive notes from these meetings, in whichever form these exist.
Yours sincerely,
Olivier Hoedeman

Dear DG Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs,
Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.
I am writing with an urgent question with regards to my access to documents request 'Comprehensive notes from recent meetings with industry lobbyists'. My request was sent four months ago (on 26/05/2025, registered on 27/05 under the case number 2025/2864); I submitted a confirmatory request that was registered on 10 July. On 1 August, the Commission extended the time-limit for replying to my confirmatory request to 25 August. The Commission then informed me that it would not meet this deadline and "we are doing our best to send a reply to your confirmatory request as soon as possible", without indicating a deadline. A month later I have not received any further updates.
Considering that this is a very simple request concerning documents related to four specific meetings, there are no justifiable reasons for such delays and for not providing any new deadline. I would therefore like to know whether I can expect a proper response to my access to documents request within the next week (by Thursday 2/10)? If not, I will submit a complaint to the European Ombudsman.
A full history of my request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.asktheeu.org/request/compreh...
