We are contacting you on behalf of Eurometaux (European metals association) in
view of the Sustainable Corporate Governance initiative you are currently working
on for later in 2022.
 
In a view of this, please find attached a letter Eurometaux has co-signed today with
other relevant sectors supporting the EU’s objective to ensure respect for human
rights and the environment through an EU-harmonised regulatory approach to due
diligence.
 
On behalf of our members’ companies, European smelters, and recyclers, we
would like to ask you for a meeting ahead of the publication of the Commission’s
proposal.
We would very much welcome this opportunity, so we can bring to your attention
our elaborated argumentation to the key points of the forthcoming proposal. A
Eurometaux representative would be joined by a set of due diligence industry
experts.
