Dear
On behalf of Commissioner Breton I would like to thank you for your kind meeting request with
members of EUROCHAMBRE Presidency.
Unfortunately, due to the very busy schedule of the Commissioner and given the important
workload, I regret to inform you that we cannot organise a meeting for the moment.
Thank you for your understanding.
Best regards,
Cabinet of Commissioner Thierry Breton

Subject: Request for a meeting with members of EUROCHAMBRES Presidency on sustainable
corporate governance and due diligence across the supply chain
Dear Commissioner Breton,
The network of chambers of commerce and industry is following with great interest the
preparation of the Commission’s proposal on sustainable corporate governance and due
diligence across the supply chain. We were encouraged when you were attributed with the
role of co chef de file earlier this year, but chambers remain acutely alert to the
consequences that this proposal might have for European companies, including SMEs.
For this reason, and having already discussed the dossier with Commissioner Reynders in
June, I would like to request a meeting with you on behalf of our
(CZ), plus one or two other members of our Presidency, including our
 from CCI France,
As your services will be aware, a group of experts from EUROCHAMBRES and
BusinessEurope will meet Agnieszka Skonieczna from your cabinet in early November
and this will I’m sure prove useful. Nonetheless, given the sensitivity and significance of
this proposal, you will understand the importance that our leadership team attaches to a
meeting with you in the run-up to adoption, which we understand is now scheduled for
early December.

While in principle ready to travel to Brussels to meet you, it may prove more practical to
organize such a meeting online, but we are open to your suggestions.
Thank you in advance on behalf of
 and our Presidency for
considering this request. We would be glad to receive a proposal of one or more potential
timeslots for such a meeting in the coming weeks.
With best regards,
