Dear Migration and Home Affairs,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

- minutes and other reports of meetings between DG HOME officials and representatives of non-EU-countries in which the issue(s) of border security and/or border control and/or illegal immigration were discussed in the period between April 1st 2015 and today;

- all correspondence (including emails) between DG HOME officials and representatives of non-EU-countries in which the issue(s) of border security and/or border control and/or illegal immigration were discussed in the period between April 1st 2015 and today.

The description given in your application does not enable us to identify
concrete documents which would correspond to your request. We therefore
invite you, pursuant to Article 6(2) of Regulation (EC) n°1049/2001
regarding public access to documents, to provide us with more detailed
information on the documents which you seek to obtain, such as types of
directives, references, persons or bodies who drafted the documents, which
"non-EU-countries" are concerned, etc. Could you please also be more
precise as far as issues of "border security and/or border control and/or
illegal immigration" are concerned, and narrow-down the period.

Your application is currently being handled.
As you have replied to our clarification request on 29/03/2017, the new
time limit expires on 24/04/2017.

However, we will not be in a position to complete the handling of your
application within the time limit of 15 working days, which expires on
this date. The new time limit expires on 17/05/2017.

An extended time limit is needed as your application concerns a large
number of documents held by different Services which must be consulted.

Therefore, we have to extend the time limit with 15 working days in
accordance with Article 7(3) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents.
