Contacts with the defence and security industry
Dear European Council,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
- minutes and other reports of meetings between European Council officials and representatives of the defence or security industry (including defence and security companies and defence or security industry groups, but also lobby consultancies and others working for defence or security industry clients or otherwise representing the defence or security industry) in which the issue(s) of border security and/or maritime security and/or human trafficking and/or human smuggling and/or illegal immigration were discussed in the period between January 1st 2013 and today;
- all correspondence (including emails) between European Council officials and representatives of the defence or security industry (including defence or security companies and defence or security industry groups, but also lobby consultancies and others working for defence or seceurity industry clients or otherwise representing the defence or security industry) in which the issue(s) of border security and/or maritime security and/or human trafficking and/or human smuggling and/or illegal immigration were discussed in the period between January 1st 2013 and today.

Dear Mr Akkerman,
On 20 October 2015, the time-limit for replying to your application was
extended by 15 working days, until 11 November 2015.
No documents covered by your request have until now been identified. Some
final verifications still need to be carried out in order to be sure that
there are indeed no such documents held by the European Council. This
will only be possible in the coming days. You will receive a concluding
reply as soon as possible.
