Correspondence about Audit or on-spot check between REA and institution 999988424

Currently waiting for a response from Research Executive Agency, they should respond promptly and normally no later than (details).

Dear Research Executive Agency,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

- verify whether REA carried out an ex post audit or on the spot checks on the institution with PIC number 999988424 in the year 2024 and whether any decisions were issued following potential findings.
-I am specifically seeking any letter sent by REA to the institution in 2024 announcing an on spot check or ex post financial audit of the entity with PIC number 999988424;
-Any decision letters issued in 2024, following such an audit or on-spot check, concerning the recovery of EU funds from the entity with PIC number 999988424.

I have reasons to believe that the institution was audited in 2024 and that potential irregularities may have been identified. Given the public nature of the funding involved, there is an overriding public interest in clarifying this matter.

Yours sincerely,

Matteo Ottaviani
