Enagás S.A. is the leading gas infrastructure operator in Spain, owning and operating
more than 11.000 km of high-pressure gas pipelines, 6 LNG regasification terminals
and 3 underground gas storages. Enagás is also present at the international level in 7
different countries such as USA, Chile, Mexico, Perú, Greece, Albania or Italy. Enagás is
deeply committed to the EU Energy and Climate targets and, more concretely, to the
development of hydrogen and biomethane projects. More info about Enagás can be

I am writing to you to share Enagás CEO’s interest in having a face-to-face meeting
with the Executive Vice President Frans Timmermans in Brussels.
has recently taken office as the new Enagás CEO on 21
February. Following the introductory letter sent to Mr. Timmermans several weeks ago,
our CEO would be now willing to have the first meeting with him. His intention would
be to share information about Enagás’ strategic plans and projects in terms of Security
of Supply and Decarbonisation (incl. hydrogen and biomethane) having a European
dimension/impact. More concretely, Enagás’ CEO would present a number of
ideas/options to help ensure EU security of gas supply making available all our
infrastructure capacities (LNG regasification, interconnections, etc.). The approach
would be to see how we can collaborate with the Commission and provide some help in
this complex and uncertain context. He would also present our development plans for
H2 networks, decarbonization projects (hydrogen and biomethane), etc., that we have
in our portfolio.
We think this conversation is particularly interesting given the current circumstances
and the upcoming publication of the REPower EU on 18 May. In this sense, we would
be grateful to receive a suitable date and timing from the Cabinet so that this meeting
would take place at the most convenient moment for the Executive Vice President
either before the end of April (excluding 25/04 and 26/04) or, if not possible in April,
during the first half of May.
