Subject: MSF meeting request for MSF International President with Commissioner/executive
Vice President
Dear Elina, Ines,

Following up on previous exchanges, I am writing to kindly ask about the possibility to arrange a
video call meeting between Commissioner Kyriakides and Executive Vice-President Dombrovskis
with
.

The meeting request would be in relation to the various public letters that MSF has addressed to
the Commission regarding global access to COVID-Tools. We thank you for your replies, which
we have carefully read, and we would appreciate the opportunity to have a direct and frank
conversation to discuss them further. In particular, and in view of the of the WTO December 18
meeting, our president would like to reconvey MSF’s support to the TRIPs waiver’s proposal and
to understand better the specific reasons for the Commission’s opposition. While we welcome
the Commission’s statements committing to global access to tools,  in our view supporting
COVAX and voluntary donations of vaccines will not be sufficient to address the stark global
inequality in access to the medical tools needed to turn the tide on this pandemic. We would
like to be given the chance to substantiate our analysis which is based on extensive practical
experience on access to medicines in development and humanitarian settings.

I know the agendas of the Commissioners are extremely busy but I look forward for a favorable
response. Please let me know if you would need a more formal communication for this request.

Kind regards,
