Dear Taxation and Customs Union,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
All Customs Declaration Forms for goods/products between the time periods of 01/01/2019- 31/12/2020 for all live wild animal imports for the following:

-Mammals
-Birds
-Reptiles

If impossible to redact sensitive and private data from the import forms (under Article 4(1)(b) of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001), we would alternatively request partial access or to simply be given the data listed below in a different format that ensures privacy of private individuals:

-Species (Scientific name if possible)
-Origin: source code, country of origin
-Purpose or reason for export (I.e., pets, commercial use)

We would prefer documents of this data if possible and in electronic format. Should the request be denied, we kindly request an explanation as to why and clarification on who we should request this specific information from.

Please confirm receipt of this application. I look forward to receiving your reply within 15 business days, as established by the regulation.

Yours faithfully,
Aubrey Collins, on behalf of FOUR PAWS European Policy Office

TAXUD-ACCESS-TO-DOCUMENTS@ec.europa.eu,

Dear Madam,

We understand that the third party running the AsktheEU.org website
usually publishes the content of applicants’ correspondence with the
Commission on that website. This includes the personal data that you may
have communicated to the Commission (e.g. your private postal address).

Similarly, the third party publishes on that website any reply that the
Commission will send to the email address of the applicants generated by
the AsktheEU.org website.

If you do not wish that your correspondence with the Commission is
published on a private third-party website such as AsktheEU.org, you can
provide us with an alternative, private e-mail address for further
correspondence. In that case, the Commission will send all future
electronic correspondence addressed to you only to that private address,
and it will use only that private address to reply to your request. You
should still remain responsible to inform the private third-party website
about this change of how you wish to communicate with, and receive a reply
from, the Commission.

Yours faithfully,
