Detail of the hate crimes registered in the European Union
Dear Justice and Consumers,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
Detail of hate crimes, according with the definition of the concept by the Spanish Ministry of Interior in the 'Report on hate crimes in Spain during the year 2013'- registered in the European Union from the first year of record available to 2015, country by country as:
- Crime area (antisemitic; aporofobia, religious beliefs or practices, disability, sexual orientation or identity, racism / xenophobia);
- Types, both criminal and administrative (sexual abuse, injuries, threats, sexual assault, racist acts; xenophobic intolerant in sport, theft, sexual assault with penetration; mild vexation; exhibitionism, other types)
All categories listed here are used in the report previously cited.
In no case I request information or documentation that could damage the fundamental rights of individuals nor to harm any official secrets legislation.
The purpose of this inquiry is to start a newspaper report based on the data provided by the Spanish Interior Ministry documents and the Directorate General for Justice and Consumers.

Subject: Your application for access to documents – Ref GestDem No
2016/2797 and No 2016/2800
We refer to your e-mail dated 15 May 2016 in which you make a request for
access to documents under the above mentioned reference number and to our
holding replies of 01/06 (for Ref GestDem No 2016/2797) and 10/06 for Ref
GestDem No 2016/2800).
As we explained in our last communication your application is currently
being handled. However, we will not be in a position to complete the
handling of your application within the deadline of today since a very
large number of files have to be examined and processed in accordance with
Regulation 1049/2001 and No 45/2001/EC and the access to the information
required consultation with third parties as well as with national
authorities of 25 Member States.
Therefore, we have to extend the time limit to next week.
We do apologize for this delay and for any inconvenience this may cause.
