Dear Trade,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I request access to the following documents:

1. (i) minutes of the meetings of and (ii) copy of the work plans established by the Committee on Sustainable Food Systems in the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and New Zealand;
2. any other document relating to the implementation of the Sustainable Food Systems chapter in the Free Trade Agreement between the European Union and New Zealand;
3. (i) minutes of the meetings of and (ii) copy of the work plans established by the Sub-committee on Sustainable Food Systems in the Interim Agreement on Trade between the European Union and the Republic of Chile;
4. any other document relating to the implementation of the Cooperation on Sustainable Food Systems chapter in the Interim Agreement on Trade between the European Union and the Republic of Chile;
5. any document pertaining to the negotiations of the new trade agreement between the EU and Mercosur showing whether the parties (or one of them) ever considered introducing a chapter on sustainable food systems in the new trade agreement and, if available, the draft chapters exchanged.

Dear Mr Dall'Agnola,

We are writing concerning your request for access to Commission documents

We are currently working on your request. However, we have not yet been
able to gather all the elements necessary to carry out a full analysis of

Thank you for your reply.

Regarding the EU-New Zealand SFS chapter, has the 2025 working plan (mentioned in the minutes of the SFS committee meeting) been adopted? If so, could you please share a copy of it?

Regarding Mercosur, the link to which you refer only shows the EU's textual proposals and the minutes of the negotiation rounds reports, which are not sufficiently detailed to exclude that an SFS chapter has ever been proposed/discussed by the parties. Could you please confirm that, in the negotiations, neither the EU nor Mercosur ever tabled the introduction of a chapter on sustainable food systems in the new trade agreement?
