EDPS appointment procedure
Dear Justice and Consumers,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents in relation to the procedure for the appointment of a new European Data Protection Supervisor.
I note that Article 52 of Regulation 2018/1725 gives the Commission the duty to make a list of candidates based on a public call. It is my understanding that the Commission made its list on the basis of a written assessment procedure and interviews. I wish to request all documents related to the recent procedure to appoint a new EDPS following the current mandate of Wojciech Wiewiórowski. This is meant to include the questions for the recent assessment, any documents related to the interviews, as well as any assessments of the candidates following the procedure which formed the basis for making a shortlist.
Yours faithfully,
Alexander Fanta
