EUMR - Correspondence
Dear Energy,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
- All correspondence - including attachments - between DG Energy and third-parties, in which the topic of the EU Methane Regulation was mentioned or disccussed. I am interested in correspondence between 2023 and today.
By third-parties, I refer to stakeholders that are not part of the European Commission (e.g. private companies, consultancies, trade groups, think-tanks, etc.).
I am interested in correspondence from May 2025 onwards.

Dear Mr Runci,
We are writing concerning your request for access to Commission documents
registered on 30.09.2025 under case number EASE 2025/4973.
We are not able to identify any document based on the description given in
your request as you mention 2 different time periods and this brings
confusion:
“I am interested in correspondence between 2023 and today.”
“I am interested in correspondence from May 2025 onwards.”
We note that we already replied to a request (EASE 2733) for the period
between 2023 and today, so please clarify if the period of the current
request is from May 2025 onwards.
In line with Article 6(2) of [1]Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding
public access to documents, we invite you to send us more detailed
information on the documents you request, such as references, persons or
bodies who drafted the documents etc.
The 15 working days to reply to your request will start running only when
you reply to this message. If you do not reply within 7 working days, we
will close this case in line with our detailed rules for the application
of Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001.

Dear Mr Runci,
We are writing concerning your request for access to Commission documents
registered on 30/09/2025 under case number EASE 2025/4973.
We are currently working on your request. However, we have not yet been
able to gather all the elements necessary to carry out a full analysis of
your request. We will not be able to send you the reply within the
prescribed time limit expiring on 03/11/2025.
The application concerns documents held by different Services, which must
be consulted.
Therefore, in line with Article 7(3) of [1]Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001,
we need to extend this time limit by 15 additional working days. The new
time limit expires on 24/11/2025.
