Fishing opportunities in the Baltic Sea - positions prior to the 2023 October Council
Dear Council of the European Union,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
Any document of the Council sent to delegations, Parliament or to COREPER related to the fixing of 2023 fishing opportunities for certain fish stocks and groups of fish stocks applicable in the Baltic Sea, prior to the October 2022 Council agreement on the setting of fishing opportunities.
I would like to receive any EU Council document related to this regulation at the proposal stages prior to its adoption and specifically:
- Member States positions and written comments on the proposal of the regulation, fishing opportunities setting and Total Allowable Catches including all updated positions by member states. Some are available publicly such as Denmark - 12479/22 ADD 6 of 20.9.2022, however this one is preliminary . Any updated positions or collated positions circulated to and by the presidency or to COREPER will be appreciated.
- Documents from BALTFISH to council and Council presidency on positions, compromise agreements and proposed draft regulation
- Commission non papers after the release of the Commission proposal for the regulation
- Political agreements at all stages
- Council Presidency compromise proposals
- Council 'bible' or any related documents detailing proposed changes the annex to the regulation on fixing of TACs after the EU Commission's initial proposal.
Yours faithfully,
Noa Steiner
