Freedom of information request re. EU Pilot 8540/16/ENVI
To whom it may concern:
On behalf of Greenpeace Nordic, I am writing to you with a request to access information pursuant to Regulation (EC) No 1367/2006.
The background to our request is the answer provided by the Commission on 9 December 2021 to the European Parliament’s Committee on Petitions, in response to Petition No 0862/2021.
In its reply, the Commission states that it closed EU Pilot 8540/16/ENVI (concerning the implementation in Denmark of the Nitrates Directive, Habitat Directive and Water Framework Directive) on 10 June 2021, after “several exchanges with the Danish authorities.” It also mentions that, in addition to the exchanges in the framework of the EU Pilot, “the Commission services have met the Danish authorities on several occasions and discussed the establishment of site specific conservation objectives and measures for Natura 2000 sites, as well as the pressures deriving from agricultural activities on those sites.”
We would like to request all documents drawn up, transmitted or received by the Commission in the framework of:
- EU Pilot investigation 8540/16/ENVI
- The meetings held between the Commission and Denmark on site specific conservation objectives and measures for Natura 2000 sites, as well as pressures deriving from agricultural activities on Natura 2000 sites.
It is not necessary to include non-substantive correspondence, such as discussion of meeting logistics, in the response.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss any question that may arise from this request, including ways it can be clarified or amended to ensure we receive the most relevant information without unduly burdening the Commission’s important work.
As for the format of disclosure, I would prefer digital files in a common format (.pdf, .docx, .eml or similar) but this is also open to discussion.
Kind regards
Kristine Modvig Clement
