Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:
How many Fur Farms there are in the EU?
How many Fur Farms by country there are in the EU?
What species of animals are used on fur farms in the EU?
How many of each species of animals are killed/used for breeding on fur farms in the EU?
How many of each species of animals are killed/used for breeding on fur farms by country in the EU?
Yours faithfully,
Edmund Long

Dear Mr. Long
Thank you for your enquiry, which was forwarded to us from Directorate General Agriculture and Rural Development.
Please be informed that we have checked this internally with relevant units and it seems that your request does not fall under "Access to documents" procedure.
From the information available to me, we are not aware of the document which would include the requested data. Therefore, this is rather "request for information".
Since we don't have such detailed information, I can only suggest checking with EUROSTAT, as most of the statistical data covering various fields is provided by this Office.
You can visit Eurostat's web site to search for the data you need at the following address: http://epp.eurostat.ec.europa.eu/portal/...
or contact the Eurostat team directly via: http://epp.eurostat.ec.europa.eu/portal/...
Alternatively you can contact the national statistical offices in the EU Member States. You will find their contact details at: http://epp.eurostat.ec.europa.eu/portal/...
I hope either of the above sources will be helpful.
Thank you for your understanding.
With kind regards
Joanna Kniaz-Hawrot
