Hydrogen Europe H2 Strategy Top 10 key recommendations FINAL.pdf
Dear Mr Vandenberghe,

In view of the work you are currently undertaking on the proposed Hydrogen Strategy and the
Strategy for Energy System Integration, I am happy to share with you The EU Hydrogen Strategy:
hydrogen Europe’s Top 10 Key Recommendations
as potential input and food for thought.
Hydrogen Europe is the European association representing the interests of the hydrogen
industry representing the whole value chain from production to final use and its stakeholders. As
such, I’d like to underline that these recommendations are representative of the ideas and
proposals of the entire value chain for how we can promote clean hydrogen (renewable and low
carbon H2), enable sector integration and meet the objective of achieving climate neutrality in
2050.
The recommendations highlight, among other,  key principles relating to issues ranging from the
concept of CO2 as the currency of the new energy system to an EU framework for guarantees of
origin, as well as proposals related to policies such as TEN-E and TEN-T and financial tools and
instruments.

Please note, we plan on publishing this document next week. We are only sharing this with a
select group of people at this stage. Thus, we would kindly ask you not to disseminate this
document further.

I trust that it will prove useful reading and remain at your full disposal to follow up or answer any
potential questions or queries.
Best regards,
