Dear

Thank you very much for accepting our invitation to participate to our EUSEW panel on
CCS, we hope our application will be successful!
In the meantime, I was pleased to learn that you replied positively to our ‘save the date’ of

Materials and Fluxys to shed light on CCS as a key enabler for the Net Zero transition to the
site visit. The event will take place on 5 March at 08:30-14:30, transport will be provided

The visit will also feature a high-level roundtable discussion with EU and Belgian policy

Dear

Thanks for your email. We are super busy finalizing the ICM Strategy now, so we are not
managing to be responsive at emails atm. However, I understand you have a deadline today at
12h, so I want to make sure to confirm that I will be pleased to join the panel. Thanks a lot for
the invitation and lets keep in touch.

Best,

Dear
,

I hope you're doing well. I wanted to follow up on our previous email regarding the panel
discussion on the critical role of CCS as a key enabler for the Net-Zero Transition in Europe. Have
you had a chance to consider participating in the panel?
As mentioned, we believe your perspective on the role of CCS in achieving climate neutrality and
enhancing the competitiveness of EU industry on the global scene would be valuable. The
application deadline is in two days, so please let us know if you're able to participate.
Find attached the concept note of our event

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Subject: invitation to join potential EU SEW session on CCS

Dear
,

I am writing on behalf of Equinor, and it is my pleasure to reconnect with you after our last
exchange ahead the CCUS Forum in November.

I am reaching out to you as we are planning on applying to the EU SEW 2024. Our intention is to
have a panel discussion that focuses on demonstrating the critical role of CCS as a key enabler
for the Net-Zero Transition in Europe. The panel would bring together industry leaders,
policymakers, environmental experts to discuss the implementation, challenges, and future
potential of CCS technology, particularly in accelerating the decarbonisation of heavy industries.
We would like to invite to you join the panel and share how the Commission sees the role of CCS
in supporting the achievement of climate neutrality while preserving and enhancing the
competitiveness of EU industry on the global scene.
This is what the draft program would look like:

Draft title: CCS: A key enabler for Net-Zero Transition in Europe

Draft agenda (90 mins)

Welcome and introduction by
 European Policy
Centre (EPC) (5 mins)
The role of CCS in the EU – the perspective of the European Commission
Policy Officer, DG ENER (10 mins)
How to meet companies' ambitions to cut CO2 emissions? Why is CCS a valuable option?
, CEO Heidelberg Materials – Benelux (10 mins)
CO2 transport infrastructure – a critical segment of CCS value chain
,
 Fluxys (10 mins)
Closing the circle: the development of safe and permanent storage facilities
 CCS Strategy, Equinor (10 mins)
A scientific-based approach to CCS;
University of Mons (10 mins)
Intervention by a civil society representative/NGO (Bellona/CleanAir Taskforce - tbc) (10
mins)
Q&A and active engagement with the audience (20 mins)
Conclusions by EPC (5 mins)

Please note that, as mentioned, the agenda is not final but the majority of the speakers have
already been confirmed.
We would be very glad if you could join our panel and share your expertise.
Let me know if you have any questions
Best regards
