Flash Report: Meeting with Federation of Finnish Technology Industries 
 
On 23 January 2019, GROW F (Mr Tokarski, Director; 
) met with representatives of 
Technology Industries of Finland (Ms Mervi Karikorpi (Director Innovation Policy), 
 
) for an exchange of views on Important Projects of Common European Interest. 
 
Technology Industries of Finland was interested in the process of Important Projects of Common 
European Interest (IPCEI), in particular the work on batteries, and how companies can get involved. The 
Commission explained that IPCEI are integrated projects with participation from at least two Member 
States. The process of building an IPCEI should be in principle open for all Member States to participate. 
Technology Industries of Finland appreciated the clarification about the openness of IPCEIs.
