I am filing the following confirmatory application with regards to my access to documents request 'Invitation to Vodafone IoT event in April'.
In your reply to my request, you allow only redacted access to 18 documents based on the protection of personal data. You state that 'access thereto for a purpose in the public interest has not been substantiated". I will try to do exactly this in my confirmatory application.
My request concerns an event organised by Vodafone. My interest as journalist in the documents is primarily due to a Commission official, Reinald Krueger, who now works for Vodafone. In a previously published story (link below) I have outlined a potential conflict of interest in Mr. Krueger's work for Vodafone, in which the event in April plays a crucial role. I therefore ask to lift the data protection restrictions on the documents in this case and grant me unredacted access.
