Dear Health and Food Safety,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

All ISO standards referred to in Directive 2014/40, art 4, in particular:

- ISO standard 8243
- ISO standard 10315
- ISO standard 8454
- ISO standard 8243

in line with the case-law of the Court of Justice in C-160/20 Stichting Rookpreventie Jeugd and Others, which states in para 48 that "technical standards determined by a standards body, such as ISO, and made mandatory by a legislative act of the European Union are binding on the public generally only if they themselves have been published in the Official Journal of the European Union".

I note that the Court invites individuals in para 37 to make use of rights in Regulation 1049/2001 to access these documents.

Yours faithfully,

Michael Veale
