Dear Mr Hurtado Coronado,
Further to your application submitted under [1]Regulation (EC) No
1049/2001 requesting access to all the preparatory documents,
correspondence, list of participants, minutes, notes, presentations,
action points, debriefs, and any other document related to the 10 April
2024 meeting between Mr Jerzy Buzek and Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A.,
please, note that Parliament does not hold any documents related to
exchanges, events or meetings between Members and third parties, if those
are not part of a parliamentary procedure (e.g. in the context of a
committee meeting) and were in any case held without the involvement of
Parliament’s administration. This is also the case for Mr Buzek, who is a
former Member of the European Parliament. Please, also be informed that
the meeting in question was held without the involvement of the Committee
on Industry, Research and Energy.
In that respect, please also note that, in such cases, even if a meeting
was held on the Parliament’s premises and/or with using the Parliament’s
technical facilities, Parliament would normally not hold any documents.
Indeed, Parliament’s administration has no access to Members’ private
offices (please see [2]Rule 125(2) of Parliament’s Rules of Procedure and
[3]Article 4 of the Statute for Members of the European Parliament).
Moreover, as required by [4]Article 7 of Annex I of the Parliament’s Rules
of Procedure, meetings with interest representatives and events organised
by Members, are published on Members’ individual official pages available
via Parliament’s website. From the [5]following link regarding the Members
of the 9^th legislature which concerns the former Member in question, by
choosing the name of a particular Member, you can access their individual
page and find a relevant list of their meetings (under the section
Meetings).
Moreover, pieces of correspondence, minutes and any other background
documents from such meetings are usually held by the Member. In this case,
should you wish to have access to such documents, you may get in touch
with the former Member.
On this basis Parliament considers your request handled and the file
closed.
Please do not hesitate to [6]submit a new request should you identify
specific Parliament documents for which you would like to request public
access.
Best regards,
