Dear Mr Pace,  
I  refer  to  your  e-mail  of  8 September 2021,  registered  on  9 September 2021,  in  which 
you  submit  a  confirmatory  application  in  accordance  with  Article 7(2)  of 
Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001 regarding public access to European Parliament, Council 
and Commission documents1 (hereafter ‘Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001’).  
Your  confirmatory  application  was  submitted  in  relation  to  your  initial  application  of 
26 July 2021 in which you requested access to the following documents: 
‘All  documents—including  but  not  limited  to  correspondence,  emails,  minutes,  notes 
(handwritten  or  electronic),  audio  or  video  recordings,  verbatim  reports,  operational 
conclusions,  lines  to  take,  briefings,  and  presentations—related  to  the  meeting  (or 
meetings) on 3 May 2019 between Bernd Biervert, Dominique Ristori and LNG Allies.’ 
As you did not receive any initial reply from the Directorate-General for Energy within 
the statutory time limits, you submitted a confirmatory application on 8 September 2021. 
In  the  meantime,  the  Directorate-General  for  Energy  sent  you  its  initial  reply  on

Against  this  background,  the  Secretariat-General  will  close  your  confirmatory 
application. 
You  remain  entitled  to  submit  a  new  confirmatory  application  in  accordance  with 
Article 7 of  Regulation (EC) No 1049/2001, should  you  wish to  request  a  review of the 
initial reply of the Directorate-General for Energy of 20 September 2021.
