Lobbying on PFAS
Dear Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs,
Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I would like to request access to the following documents related to lobbying on PFAS, per and polyfluoroalkyl substances. In particular I would like:
1. A list of all meetings/ discussions since 1 April 2022 between officials and or Commissioners with businesses, trade associations, or think tanks where this topic was discussed.
2. Any records, minutes or notes of these meetings/discussions.
3. All correspondence since 1 April 2022, where this topic was discussed, exchanged between officials and or Commissioners with businesses, trade associations, or think tanks.
To the extent possible, my strong preference is to receive documents in electronic format.
I would also be grateful to receive the documents in batches, as soon as they are identified and available to send.
Please note that I am tabling this request separately to DG Grow, DG Environment, and the Secretariat-General of the Commission and I look forward to receiving the respective documents accordingly.
Thank you in advance.
Yours faithfully,
Vicky Cann

Dear [email address],
Thank you very much for the documents for 2023-2045; I was travelling w/c 5 June but will go through them now.

Dear Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs,
Thank you very much for the documents for 2023-2045. However, I would like to submit a confirmatory application for the missing documennts and some of the redacted documents.
Please pass this on to the person who reviews confirmatory applications.
On the refusal to release documents 22, 23, and 28, I would like this to be reconsidered. To refuse the release of any elements of the documents on commercial confidentiality grounds seems excessive.
On document 10, the redactions have even included the name of the "electronics company" so that it is not possible to know which lobby group sent the correspondence; I would like this to be reconsidered.
On document 9, the comments on REACH have been redacted. However, as the PFAS dossier and REACH are so closely linked, I would like this to be reviewed.
Finally, document 24 from a Commission official says "I do not forsee to have specific meetings with industry representatives on UPFAS dossier as ... not on our desk". It would be important to understand who made this statement in the Commission, and if this is a shared or agreed intention, in the interests of transparency and accountability. I would like the redaction of this information, specifically the name of the official, to be reviewed.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Vicky Cann
