Dear European Parliament,

Under the right of access to documents in the EU treaties, as developed in Regulation 1049/2001, I am requesting documents which contain the following information:

MEPs are entitled to a reimbursement of two-thirds of their medical expenses. Apart from the proportion of reimbursement, the detailed rules and procedures of this system are the same as that which covers EU civil servants.

I am requesting all documents on medical expenses that have been reimbursed for everything that falls under the scope of cosmetic surgery, including massages and facial hair removal.

Yours faithfully,

Dear Mr Nielsen,

Further to your application seeking public access to all documents on MEPs
medical expenses that have been reimbursed for everything that falls under
the scope of cosmetic surgery, including massages and facial hair removal,
Parliament has not been able to identify any documents falling within the
scope of your application.

MEPs’ reimbursement requests are debited to Parliament's budget but
processed by the European Commission’s Office for the Administration and
Payment of Individual Entitlements (PMO). Members can submit requests for
reimbursement either directly to the PMO or via the competent unit within
Parliament; in the latter case, the competent unit forward the request to
the PMO after checking that the file is in order. This unit is not allowed
to keep any records or copies of reimbursement requests.

In summary, Parliament does not hold documents containing the requested
information nor can produce such documents.

In case you deem it necessary to submit your request to the European
Commission, and for your convenience, we provide you with its website on
access to documents:

On this basis, Parliament considers your request as handled and the file
closed. Please do not hesitate to come back to us, should you have any new
request for specific Parliament documents.

Kind regards,
